Ikeduru LGA Government area was created from Mbaitolu LGA in the yea 1989 and consists of several towns and other sub-towns and villages.
The LGA is situated in the western part of Imo State and is bordered by Isiala Mbano LGA, Owerri North LGA, (Aboh Mbaise and Ahiazu LGA) on the North, South and West respectively.
The Local Government Council is headed by the acting Executive Chairman who is also in charge of the administrative functions such as day to day running of the council, policy making and more.
