How we check prices
Finelib Prices shows typical market ranges so Nigerians can plan before they buy. Here is how those ranges are made.
1. Collect. We gather dated prices for the exact item, size and city from official statistics (such as NBS price watches), Nigerian news market surveys, retailer and dealer listings and operator fare tables.
2. Compare like with like. Prices are grouped by product type, pack size and seller level so a 50kg bag is never mixed with a smaller pack.
3. Publish a range. We show the range most buyers pay, leaving out extreme highs and lows. Each page lists its sources and the month it was checked.
4. Review monthly. Ranges are refreshed every month. If we cannot confirm a current price, we say so instead of guessing.
