Abia State Local Government Areas

Aba North LGA is located in the town of Eziama Uratta and many villages make up the composition of the area which some of them are Ogbo, Uratta, Eziama, Osusu, Umuola-Egbule, Umuola-Okpulor and Umuokoji.

Aba South Local Government Area is situated in the commercial city of Aba and has number of town and villages located within such as Asaeme, Ihieorji, Ndiegoro, Nnetu, Ohabiam, Umuagbai, Umumba, Umuosi, Abaukwu, Ariaria, Asaokpuja, Amanfuru & more.

Arochukwu Local Government Area is headquartered in the town of Arochukwu and many villages make-up the LGA viz: Ujari, Amasu, Ibom, Amuze, Oro, Obinkita, Amoba and others.

Bende Local Government Area is at Bende town and accounts as one of the serving 17 existing local government council and comprises the town of Bende, Humbauzo, Uzuakoli, Umuhu-Ezexhi, Nkpa, Ozuitem, Umu-Menyi, Igbere, Alayi, Itumbauzo, Ugwueke & Item.

Ikwuano Local Government Area is one of the existing 17 local government areas in the state located at the town of Isiala Oboro and consists of the towns of Ariam, Umuhu, Umuokpara, Omuegwu, Usok, Ibeku, Ibere, Isingwu, Nkwo-Egwu, Nwkoachara & others.

Isiala Ngwa North Local Govt. Area has its headquarters in the town of Okpuala-Ngwa with the composition of the towns of Ama-Asa, Amapu Ntigha, Amasa-Ntigha, Ihie, Ngwa Ukwu, Nsulu and Umuoha under its administration.

Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area is sited in the town of Omoba and functions as one of the 17 existing LGAs in the state with the towns of Omuoba, Amaise-Ahoba, Ngwa, Amaise, Ovu-Ngwa, Osokwa-Nvosi, Isiala-Nvosi, Ovu-Okwu, Okporo, Ahaba and Mbutu.

Isuikwuato LGA is located in the town of Nbalano and amongst the serving 17 LGAs in the state, consisting of the towns of Achara-Utu, Ezere, Imenyi, Isu-Amawu, Mgbaugwu, ogudo-Asa, Ohaise and Umun-nekwu.

Obi Ngwa Local Government Area is in the town of Mgboko and also one of the existing 17 LGAs in the state having the towns of Mgboko-Otu Ngwa, Onuma, Abayi, Ibeme, Mgboko-Amiri, Ahiaba, Mgboko, Abayi, Akuma-Imo and Ntiagha-Uzor.

Ohafia LGA has its headquarters in the town of Eben Ohafia, functioning as one of the 17 LGAs in the state consisting the towns of Nkporo, Oko-Aku, Amangwu-Ohafia, Ohofor-Ohafia, Oma-Ohafia, Ebem-Ohafia, Aro-Ngwa, Amasa, Oso-Akwa, Ama-Asato and others.

Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area is one of the existing 17 LGAs in the state located in the town of Osisioma with the composition of the towns of Osisioma, Uratta, Okpu-Umuobo, Amaitoli, Aro-Ngwa, Amasa, Oso-Okwa, Umunneise & Okupu-Umuobo.

Ugwunagbo Local Government Area is amongst the 17 existing LGAs in Abia State, Nigeria located in the town of Ugwunagbo consisting of many villages such as Amaokpu-Umuitiri, Abayi, Akanu, Alaoji, Obuzor, Osusu-Aku, Ozaa-Umuebukwu, Uke & others.

Ukwa East Local Government Area serves as one of the functioning 17 LGAs of Abia State with headquarters at the town of Akwete comprising of the towns of Ala-Ukwu, Azumini, Ibeme, Ikwueke, Ikwuo-Rieator, Ntigha-uzo, Obohia, Umuigbube-Achara etc.

Ukwa West Local Government Area is one amongst the 17 existing Local Government councils in the state located in the town of Oke-Ikpe, consisting of the towns of Ozar-Ukwu, Ozar West, Ipu-South, Ipu-East, Ipu-West, Asa-South, Obokwe and Asa-North.

Umu-Nneochi Local Government Area is one of the existing local government council is located in Nkwo-Agu in Amuda town, Nkwoagu, which serves as the administrative headquarters and comprising the communities of Umuelem, Achara, Lomara & Ihie among others.

Umuahia North Local Government Area is also one of the 17 local government councils with its headquarters in the city of Umuahia, known formerly as Ikwuano/Umuahia LG, and presently made up of the towns of Ohokobe, Ndume, Ossah, Ugwunihara, and others.

Umuahia South Local Government Area being one of the LGA council in the state is sited in the town of Apumiri, Ubalaka and consists of the numerous towns such as Ahiaukwu, Amakama, Ubalaka, Nsirimo, Ezeleke/ Ogbodiukwu, Ohiaocha, Omaegwu & Old Umuahia.
