Enter your measurements and click Calculate Body Fat Percentage.
The US Navy method uses logarithmic equations based on height, neck and waist measurements, plus hip circumference for the female equation. Measurements are converted from centimetres to inches before calculation. The male waist measurement is taken at the navel, while the female waist measurement is taken at the narrowest point.
Results are approximate and can vary with measurement technique and body proportions. This tool is for non-pregnant adults. It does not measure body composition directly and is not intended to diagnose health conditions.
It estimates the share of total body weight made up of fat tissue.
The calculator uses the US Navy circumference equations with height, neck, waist and, for the female equation, hip measurements.
For the male equation, measure at the navel. For the female equation, measure at the narrowest waist point. Keep the tape level and follow consistent technique.
Measure the neck just below the larynx. For the female equation, measure hips at the widest point.
No. Tape measurements are estimates and can differ from clinical measurements such as DXA.
Yes. Enter all circumferences and height in centimetres. The calculator converts internally to inches for the equation.
