Fence / Perimeter Wall Calculator

Estimate blocks, wall area, pillars, cement and sand for a perimeter wall. Enter the measured perimeter and subtract gates or other openings.

Enter your fence dimensions

Use the actual site perimeter or total wall length. Foundation and structural quantities are intentionally kept separate.

Blocks & pillars
Block-laying mortar
Editable planning assumptions: block dimensions, pillar spacing and mortar consumption must match the project. Pillar count is an approximate spacing count only; it does not determine pillar size, reinforcement or structural adequacy.

Scope boundary: This calculator estimates the block wall and block-laying mortar. It does not design or automatically quantify foundations, reinforced columns/pillars, reinforcement, concrete beams, coping, plaster/render, paint, gates, security wire, drainage or labour. Foundation depth/width and structural elements should follow the approved design and site/soil requirements.

How the estimate works

Gate/opening width is deducted from total perimeter length. Net wall length × wall height, less any other excluded area, gives the block wall area. The wall area is divided by the entered block face area and wastage is added. Pillar positions are estimated from the selected spacing. Block-laying mortar uses the entered wet-mortar allowance per square metre, dry-volume factor and cement:sand ratio to estimate cement bags and sand.
