Planning estimate, not structural design. The concrete grade, mix design, water-cement ratio, aggregate grading and reinforcement requirements must follow the project's engineering specification. Do not choose a structural concrete mix from this calculator alone.

Calculation basis

Volume is calculated from the entered dimensions. For the 1:2:4 estimating option, the material guide uses approximately 6.5 bags of 50 kg cement, 1.0 tonne of sand and 1.45 tonnes of coarse aggregate per cubic metre before the selected general wastage allowance. The Grade 25 guide uses approximately 7 bags of cement, 1.2 tonnes of sand and 1.4 tonnes of granite per cubic metre. The 1:2.5:3.5 option uses the published site-rate guide of approximately 7 bags, 1.089 tonnes of sand and 1.461 tonnes of granite per cubic metre.
