Ceiling Calculator

Estimate ceiling boards or panels and optional framing quantities from the ceiling area, product dimensions, framing spacing and wastage.

Enter the ceiling area

Use room dimensions or a measured ceiling area, then enter the actual board/panel and framing specification.

Ceiling boards / panels
Optional framing estimate
Use the manufacturer's system specification: board dimensions, effective panel coverage, framing type and member spacing vary by ceiling product and installation system. The displayed values are editable planning inputs, not a universal Nigerian ceiling specification.

Planning estimate: This calculator does not automatically quantify hangers, suspension wires/rods, perimeter angles, clips, screws, joint tape, jointing compound, cornices, access panels, insulation, lighting cut-outs, bulkheads, decorative features or labour. PVC systems may be sold by panel length rather than board area, and POP work may use a different material method. Confirm the selected system with the manufacturer or installer.

How the estimate works

Net ceiling area is divided by the face area of the entered board or panel, then the selected cutting/wastage allowance is added and the result is rounded up. For rectangular rooms, the optional framing estimate lays main members across the room width at the entered spacing and cross members across the room length at their spacing. Framing lengths receive a separate allowance and are converted to stock pieces. For Direct Area mode, framing is estimated from area ÷ spacing, so it is a planning approximation rather than a layout take-off.
