Planning estimate: Block dimensions, joint thickness, cutting, breakage, workmanship and the actual wall design can change the quantity required. Structural/load-bearing decisions should follow the project design and professional specification.

How the estimate works

The calculator finds gross wall area, subtracts the area of doors and windows, divides the net wall area by the selected block face area, and then applies the chosen wastage allowance. For the common 450 × 225 mm block face, the theoretical rate is about 9.88 blocks per m² before allowing for mortar joints; practical Nigerian estimating guidance commonly rounds this to about 10 blocks per m².
