Benin City Film Festival (BCFF)
The annual film workshop award, Benin City Film Festival, is scheduled to hold from October 29th – 30th, 2026, edition at Film House Cinema, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
The four-day event, which will feature screenings, workshops/seminar exhibitions, awards, and a gala night, is being presented by Nigeria Film Society and Abog Communications, in collaboration with the Edo State Government and the Nigeria Institute of Hospitality and Tourism.
Vision: The aim of the Benin City Film Festival is to present quality films to visiting professionals, amateurs, and local, national, and international film enthusiasts in Benin City.
Objectives
- To attract audiences from across Nigeria and around the world to Benin City to watch quality films that emphasize social issues.
- To ensure that the international film directors attend the festival and participate in discussions about their work and about the art of filmmaking, and that they are given the opportunity to see what the region has to offer, in the hope that they will return to make films there.
- To provide a sustainable long-term tourism event in Edo State.
- To encourage local people and international visitors who attend the festival to engage in the creative filmmaking process by participating in seminars, events, and workshops running in parallel to the festival screenings.
- To provide high-quality entertainment (music, international cuisine, family events) at an affordable cost.
