50th Edition of Annual Conference of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria

Theme: "Golden Jubilee" conference marks 50 years of the SSSN's Conferences and its proven leadership in advancing agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.

The 50th Edition of the Annual Conference of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria is a rewarding synergy for soil solutions and land management.

It is organized by the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science and is scheduled to hold from 5th to 9th October 2026 at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.

The Agricultural and Veterinary Complex, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is hosting the 50th annual soil science conference, which will provide a platform for various book authors to present both oral and poster lectures.

The annual conference aims to provide soil science training in Nigeria to produce skilled graduates ready to meet the needs of agricultural development.

It will feature many delegates from the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Practice in Nigeria, lecturers, authors, and students. The presenters will be giving lectures on different types, such as:

• Inventory of Nigerian soil resources.
• Integrated soil fertility management systems.
• Climate-smart agriculture.
• Soil degradation, rehabilitation/ restoration, and conservation.
• Wetland for sustainable services.
• Soil biodiversity and ecosystem management.
• Management of Irrigated Lands.
• Land use and land cover change.
• Environmental pollution and protection.
• Socioeconomic implications of land use and climate change.
• Application of remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems in soil and environmental sciences.
