National Museum of Unity Enugu provides guided tours, research facilities and the preservation of the Nigerian cultural and natural heritage with the local or national development process.
National Museum of Unity Enugu was established in 1972 in a bid to unify Nigeria after the Nigerian civil war. It was believed that exhibiting the heterogeneous culture of Nigeria will encourage understanding, love and peaceful co-existence among the various groups. This is commonly referred to as unity in diversity.
Opens Monday - Friday from 9.00am to 3pm daily.

The museum showcases objects of common belief of different ethnic groups in Nigeria. The include kingship and royalty, and means of communication with supernatural forces in attempts by our ancestors to uncover the unknown.

In 2006 the National Museum of Unity Enugu was commissioned. It is empowered under degree No. 77 of 1979 to access, oversee and maintain declared and private monuments in national interest for the purpose of repair or protection for such period as may be agreed to between the owner and the commission. The museum if one of the outstations of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments with the following units: Conservation, documentation, education, exhibition, heritage and sites, museums, research, exhibition, heritage and sites, museum, research, library, administration, accounts, audit, projects and works.
The museum exhibition is divided into 3 main galleries: the unity gallery presents objects of arts illustrating some common concepts in the belief system of the various ethnic groups of Nigeria; Igbo gallery - showcase the Ibo world view in relation to the architectural, religious, political, social and economic systems of the Igbo people and the Enugu the Coal city - presents the growth and development of Enugu arising from the discovery of coal.
